Translate Your Account Blocks: Show Each Customer Their Own Language

Translate your customer account blocks into every language your store supports — no duplicate blocks needed. Customers automatically see your content in their own language.

Updated August 25, 2026

Selling in more than one language? You can translate any block’s text so customers automatically see it in their own language — no duplicate blocks, no extra setup on the account page.

Before you start

  • Your store needs the language published. In your Shopify admin, go to Settings → Languages, add the language (e.g. French), and click Publish. Customers can only browse in published languages.
  • Translations are available on the Starter plan and up.

Step 1: Open the Languages tab Open any block in Account Blocks and click the Languages tab (next to Placement). If the block has no translations yet, you’ll see a + Add translation button.

Step 2: Pick a language Click + Add translation and choose a language from the list. The list shows the languages your store has published.

Step 3: Translate the text You’ll see just the block’s text fields — title, body, button labels. Nothing else, because only text changes per language. Colors, layout, and settings stay the same everywhere. Type your translations. Two things to know: You don’t have to translate everything. Any field you leave unchanged automatically shows your default content instead. Your default content stays where it was — edit it any time in the Settings tab, and every language picks up those changes for untranslated fields.

Step 4: Save and publish Click Save, then Publish if the block isn’t live yet. Done. What your customers see A customer browsing in French sees the French version. A customer browsing in German (or any language you haven’t translated) sees your default content. This happens automatically — customers never see a language picker or a broken mix.

Tip: A customer’s language comes from their browser and account settings, not their location. To test, switch your browser’s preferred language — using a VPN won’t change it.

Managing your translations Each translated language shows as a pill at the top of the Languages tab:

  • Click a pill to edit that language.
  • Click the × on a pill to remove that translation. (It’s only permanent after you save.)
